More fiber/yarn arts?

I crochet, and i really like it. Other than Knitting, and embroidery/quilting, what other options do I have for fiber arts? I know there is weaving, which seems fun. Can you tell me more about carpet braiding? What other options do I have, that are relatively inexpensive?

If you’re intrigued by carpet braiding, you might want to look into making ‘toothbrush rugs’ – they look like braided rugs but you make and join them in one operation instead of having to sew miles of braid together afterwards. Here’s a link to instructions that were presented on HGTV.

You may also be interested in exploring the growing movement to repurpose old clothing into new garments, pillows, blankets, etc. – projects like felting old wool sweaters and making mittens from the fabric, unravelling thriftstore sweaters to reuse the yarn, etc. Here’s a look at one trashionista’s tutorials.
