how do you crochet a hat?

I am trying to make a large crochet hat for my fella who has very long dreadlocks.

First question to you? Is do u know how to crochet?
Because if you dont……….first you have to learn then you have to learn how to read a pattern. If you need to learn …go to “You tube. and type in learn how to crochet. and it will come up in lots of videos…i have learned a-lot from there….Once you have that down pat…..then the easy part begins….just do a search for “free crochet patterns”and once you find some patterns there are tons of them out there in cyber space..
just go to where it says hats and click on it and it will open up to a bunch of hat patterns you can choose from and you can use them for yourself.good luck with your search for a good hat for your fella friend.
