knitting wool
When knitting, if I use BIGGER needles, will I need more, or less wool?
I’m about to begin a big knitting project (blanket), and I’m trying to conserve wool. So if I use big needles (say 8 or 10), and have looser stitches, will I use more or less balls of wool than if I used small needles (about size 5), and had tighter stitches? Assuming I’m using the same thickness of wool regardless of the needles, and that I want the finished project to be a particular size regardless of the needles/wool I use.
It will use a little less, but the holes will be big. As long as you don’t mind the big holes, then you’ll use a little less yarn.
